Family Photo Shoot

While my mom was here helping out, she also took some really good pictures. Isn't Owen just the cutest?!?

Owen's First Bath

Visitors and 5 Generations

We had a lot of visitors and it was fun to see everyone's reaction to baby Owen. Thanks to everyone that stopped by, brought gifts and/or food.

My grandparents and great grandma came and visited. It was cool to capture the moment with all of us together.

2 Week Old Appointment

Owen now weighs 7 lbs 4 oz
He is in the 10th percentile
He now is 20 inches long
He is in the 18th percentile
His head circumference is still in the 56th percentile

Jaundice

Poor Owen had jaundice for about the first week of life. He had to wear a biliblanket on his skin from Saturday to Wednesday. It was nice that he got to be home and not in the hospital but it was a little annoying that the machine had to be plugged in so it was harder to move him because of the cord. We also had to go the the hospital every day for the first 10 days so they could check his bilirubin levels in his blood. They would prick his heel and fill up a tube. By the end of doing this we knew if the phlebotomist was a good one and would be quick or a slow one that would make his cry even more.

Andrew said he looked like a little glow worm and that was a pretty good description. He liked the biliblanket because it was warm.

His levels are now normal but his eyes are still a little yellow. That's normal and should go away within the next week.

2 Day Old Appointment

Owen now weighs 6 lbs 13 oz
He is in the 23rd percentile for weight
He is in the 46th percentile for height
He is in the 56th percentile for his head circumference

Introducing Owen Andrew B

Andrew and I are so happy to announce the arrival of Owen Andrew B.

7 lbs 6 oz
19 inches

We stayed at the hospital 24 hours after he was born. We couldn't leave until he had pooped and peed. At 4 he still hadn't peed and we were afraid that we would have to stay longer but luckily he peed a little before  5 and so we were good to go at the 24 hour mark.
Coming home!

Festive Sugar Cookies

On Friday, I decided that I wanted to do something different but fun that night. I decided to make sugar  cookies and then we had some friends over to decorate them.

The recipe I used is found here.
1 1/2 C butter
2 C Sugar
4 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
5 C Flour (I used a little more because it was really sticky)
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla

Add flour, baking powder, and salt
Refrigerate dough for an hour.
Flour the counter so the dough doesn't stick. Roll out and cut to desired shape. I used pumpkins, bats and ghosts  because its October and getting close to Halloween.

Bake for 6-7 minutes at 400

Some of the finished products
Enjoy!

39 Down 1 To Go

Well, its here, week 39. We are anxiously waiting for the baby Owen's arrival. I hate not knowing when he will come. I'm trying to keep myself busy so I don't think about it or realize how uncomfortable I am.
I feel huge but everyone I talk to mentions how small I am so I'm glad no one else thinks I'm a cow or at least they don't tell me I do. I also don't think I waddle so that's good; or maybe that means I have to wait longer. Who knows!

Hopefully he comes soon because we can't wait to meet him!

Girls Night

Last night, Andrew and Drew played basketball. Sydney and I wanted to have fun too, so we got together and did our finger nails. We used Gelish so that it would last longer and we didn't have to wait for it it dry. Then we made a Texas Sheet Cake. It was so easy and soooo yummy!

Thanks for a fun night Syd!
