Chopped

I don't normally take selfies and think they are pointless most of the time. This one has a purpose. I chopped off almost 5 inches of my hair. I decided I really wanted some change and that's the easiest thing to change in a short amount of time.
I'm still not sure how I feel about it. It is all one length and I think it looks kind of heavy and too thick. I think I might go back and get layers. Andrew likes it and said to give it a week. Maybe it will grow on me.

Giggles

I have been waiting for this day for about a week now. I knew it was coming soon because when Owen would get excited or really happy he would have a huge open mouth smile and then gasp. It was like he was trying to figure out what to do next.  And then finally on Friday he figured it out. I just love our little boy so much. Isn't he the cutest? We think so but we are a little biased being his parents and all.

Chatter Box

We got Owen a play mat for Christmas but it didn't get here until last Tuesday. I'm pretty sure I'm more excited about it than he is but he seems to like it. When we first put him on it he just talked away. He is getting so much more interactive; its so fun.

Eggs Benedict

I was watching "Worst Cooks in America" on Food Network the other day and they made eggs benedict. I thought, if they can do it, I should be able to do it too. Not all of theirs turned out so I was hoping for the best. Today I had time to try and make it and I was really pleased with how it turned out. I was only worried about 2 things. 1. My hollandaise sauce would turn into scrambled eggs and 2. I would break my yolk or over cook the yolk in the poached egg. I was so proud of myself when it actually turned out. It hit the spot and I will definitely be making it again. I got the recipe here.

3 Months Old

I can't believe that Owen is 3 months old already! It has gone by so fast and I can't believe how big he is getting.

  • He has found his voice and chatters all the time.
  • He is wearing 3 month and 3-6 month clothing now.
  • He fits into his size 1 diaper perfectly.
  • He now rolls to both sides when on his tummy. We are still practicing rolling from his back. That dang arm just gets in the way every time.
  • He likes to chew on his hands. He doesn't really suck them just chews.
  • He can hold his head up most of the time.
  • He likes to grab the tag of his blanket.
  • He is rarely in the same spot in his crib that I put him in when he went to sleep.
  • Most nights he sleeps for a 6-7 hour chunk. He takes about an hour and a half nap in the morning and a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon with some short little naps in between.
  • He likes to watch sports with Andrew and will sit so contently on his lap. He is training him young.
  • He really enjoys his bath and has started to kick in the water.
  • He likes being read and sung to and will often coo along. Some of his favorite songs are the itsy bitsy spider and pat a cake.
