Brrrrrr

I'm a little worried about this winter because Owen loves to be outside and I'm not sure what we will do when its icy and 5 degrees outside. But on Wednesday it was 30 degrees and so we took Owen outside. It had rain/snowed earlier in the day but he didn't care that the rocks were wet. He had a lot of fun playing in the rocks and wandering around the sidewalk. After 15 minutes we brought him inside because we were too cold. Go ahead and call us babies. He then screamed at the door but luckily we were able to distract him and we played with blocks.

An Afternoon with Owen

Owen likes to have my phone in the camera mode. He will make funny faces and sometimes take 80 selfies. Here are a few and I even joined in a few!

Preschool Halloween Party

I was Captain Alphabet. It was a lot of fun to make up my own super hero. It was even more fun when the kids would find the letters in their name.
I made the cape out of an old t-shirt of Andrews (I've never seen him wear it the whole time we've been married), and my mask out of a piece of felt that I had. So simple but fun. On my shirt I just put every letter in the primary colors and a silver glitter. Tada!  Captain Alphabet was discovered. It was so easy and it was fun being crafty.

Halloween Festivities

On Thursday we carved pumpkins with Mitch and Kendra. Their pumpkin turned out so cute. Owen sat still while they traced his hands and feet. Andrew, like always, did a sports pumpkin. I helped him gut it and carve it. He free handed it which was quite impressive. Owen liked the pumpkin guts. He even tried to eat them... then wasn't as much of a fan.

One day I will remember to take more pictures. Owen actually kept his hood on for the most part. I think he is a dragon (it has wings). The people at the trunk or treat said he was a cute dinosaur or alligator. Either way he was pretty cute. When we first put on his costume he even growled but of course when we tried to record it he would just stare at us. His favorite trick or treat item was a tooth brush. What a silly kid. He loved the pumpkins and would try to pick them up. He isn't quite strong enough for most of them but he tried.

I made Owen's goodie bag. It was cute and so easy. I took about 5 minutes. I took a cereal box and wrapped it in black butcher paper I had lying around. Then I made eyes out of duct tape, and cut out a mouth from construction paper. I drew on teeth and glued everything on the box. I cut a hole on each side of the box, found some ribbon and threaded it threw and tied it in a not. Easy peasy and cute!

Mary Kay

I have decided to sell Mary Kay. It was kind of an impulse decision but it will be good for us. Andrew probably thinks I'm crazy. I'm doing it as a hobby so if you ever need any make up or skin care products you know where to find me. I would love to be your consultant and hook you up. I'm thinking this will be a fun opportunity to meet new people and help them feel pretty in their own skin and help enhance what they already have.

Fall Festival

We went to the fall festival at the pumpkin patch. There was a hay ride, pumpkin cannon, a little fairy tale forest, a corn kernel "sand" box and of course, the pumpkin patch. Owen had fun wandering everywhere. Andrew's favorite part was the pumpkin cannon. I thought the fairy tale forest was so cute. There was the 3 little pigs houses, the 3 bears house and little red ridding hood's grandmothers house.

Photo Shoot

My friend Erin took pictures of Owen on his birthday. We went to the park and it was perfect because there were leaves for him to play with. She had a cute little wagon and some balloons for him to explore.

12 Month Appointment

Owen is healthy and growing!

He weighs 18 lbs and 5 oz. That puts him in the 10th percentile
He is 30 inches tall putting him in the 57th percentile

Owen at One

Owen favorite food is fruit, especially oranges, blackberries, pears, and apples. While the tree outside had apples on it Owen would eat one everyday. I would take one bite and he would eat the rest, a lot of times eating it all the way to the core. He also really likes pancakes and goldfish.

Owen likes to play with blocks, books and cars.

Owen enjoys dancing to pretty much any kind of music and being outside. He will often bring me my shoes and cry at the door.

Owen has 4 teeth.

When he is ready for bed he will bring me his blanket.

Owen is a bundle of energy and always moving!

Cake Smash

On Saturday we had a little party for Owen. Thanks aunt Haley, aunt Taylor, and Scott and Lexi for joining us. He was so funny to watch as he "smashed" the cake. We learned that Owen is a lover not a fighter. It was so funny how he kept kissing the cake.

I Have a 1 Year Old!!!

I didn't have to teach on Owen's birthday because it was harvest break. Andrew didn't have to work until the afternoon because he normally would be watching him. It was fun to spend the morning together just the 3 of us. We blew up balloons the night before and he played with those while I made his favorite, pancakes. I also gave him mandarin oranges. He loves those so much he could eat a whole can if I let him. Then we opened the gifts from Grandpa and Grandma K. He enjoyed the xylophone and balls. Anything that can be hit and thrown are something that Owen will like. He is a real boy. Aunt Haley got him a giant number 1 helium balloon. He liked giving it hugs. I got him a cute little party hat and he wanted nothing to do with it.

We went to McDonald's for dinner. Mostly to play on the play area. Next time we will just go for ice cream. He had a lot of fun climbing through the tubes and going down the slides.

Then we went and had a photo shoot. I have a friend that wanted to take his pictures for her portfolio. I haven't seen any yet but I'm sure she got a few good shots even though he was a busy body. Thanks so much Erin!

Our friend Kevin got Owen some Nike. He looks so grown up wearing shoes. At first he had a hard time walking but figured it out pretty quickly.

Trip to Watch Davis Play Soccer

This last weekend we went to watch Davis play 2 soccer games. Unfortunetly he lost both games. I hadn't ever seen him play at the varsity level so it was still a lot of fun to see him play.

Saturday morning while we were eating breakfast, my mom decided to get a paper to look for garage sales. Davis was on the front page of the sports section.

Owen is getting really good at blowing kisses!

After soccer hair. He has a man top knot while he plays.

Good luck with the rest of the season!

Trip to Vegas

We went to Vegas to meet Grandpa and Grandma B. First we stopped and had breakfast with aunt Baylee.

We had a lot of fun. We went swimming in aunt Laurel's pool. Owen loves the water.

We went to the Valley of Fire. I really wish I would have taken more pictures because it was so pretty.
On one of the trails, we ran into a french travel bus and they all loved Owen. They were saying something about his blue eyes, wondering how old he was and something about the fact that he could walk (Thanks Grandma, some of it actually stuck!) One of them told us it was too hot for him to be outside (It was 97) and started spraying sun screen all of his legs, arms and on his head.

We went to the mandalay bay aquarium!

Green screens are fun!

Owen really liked all of the fish. After a while he did get tired but who can blame him? 11 month olds don't have a very long attention span.

Thanks aunt Laurel for letting us stay. Thanks Steve and Kim for meeting us and for all of the fun!

On the way back we had dinner with aunt Taylor. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures.

We sure do LOVE our family!!!
